“Delight yourself in him”

“Thy hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in they word.

I know O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to they word unto thy servant.

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

Let the proud be ashamed; for they have dealt perversely with me without a cause; but I will meditate in thy percepts,

Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have thy testimonies.

Let my heart be sound (blameless) in thy statutes; that I may not be ashamed.” Psalm 119:73-80 JOD

You know as you study Psalm 119, the overwhelming thought of the entire chapter is teaching us about the WORD and the power of that word to renew, restore, and even resurrect what is dead.

And as we are told in John 1:1: “In the Beginning, WAS the Word, and the WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD.”

Drop it down to verse 14, and it further explains, “And the WORD WAS MADE FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the ONLY begotten SON OF GOD.”

We are also given so much comfort in knowing that the WORD is also our powerful our spiritual weapon, as it is the sword of the Spirit, the WORD of God, as we are war against the enemies that seek to destroy our souls. And the more of his word held safe inside of herat, where no one, can take it, the sharper and more effect that sword will be. As God promised us.

Isaiah 55:11: “So shall my WORD be that goeth forth out of my mouth; It shall NOT returned to me void (unfulfilled), BUT IT SHALL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH I PLEASE, AND IT SHALL PROSPER IN THAT THING WHERETO I SEND IT.

So if it is one verse that comes to mind, hold onto that one verse, such as “The Lord IS my Shepherd, I shall NOT want.” Psalm 23:1

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I WILL TRUST; my buckler (shield), and the horn (strength) of my salvation, and my high tower.”Psalm 18:2

“The Lord IS my strength and my shield; my heart TRUSTETH in him, and I AM HELPED; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise thee. The Lord is THEIR strength, and he IS the saving strength of his anointed.” Psalm 28:7,8

If you notice in our passage from Psalm 119, that this is also his request to be a light, a help,an encouragement to other believers.

And to do that we need hope ourselves, so that we can share that hope with others that by seeing God’s love shining through you, they will have hope through or their own journey.

The Bible gives us the road map to peace, love, and joy, there will surely be pain, sorrow, and suffering, but always, always remember it is ONLY for a little awhile, and we live because HE LIVES.

And this the reminder we are given, Acts:27,28a: “That they SHOULD seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him (in the HOPE that they grope for), and FIND HIM, though he be NOT far from every one of us. For IN him WE live, and move, and have our being,..”

And what he is saying with, is that God is NEVER as far away as we think, and even to those who have NOT accepted him YET, he is closer that they would ever know.

Because we ONLY exist because HE CREATED US, we only function, breathe, eat or sleep because he has blessed us to do so. And once we understand the simple truth that LOVES US.

Once we understand that he loves us not because of anything we have done or have left undone, he just loves us. That’s it, HE JUST LOVES US! How fabulous is that? We don’t have to earn it, or try to work to keep it, HE JUST DOES BECAUSE THAT IS JUST WHO HE IS.

And he wants us to joy in that, “listen” to Isaiah 58:14: “Then shalt thou DELIGHT thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father; FOR THE MOUTH OF THE LORD HATH SPOKEN IT.

When the Bible reference “high places” to me, it is always symbolic over overcoming and that God will in fact bless you in those areas that you were once caused to stumble by others who have hurt you or by circumstance or attacks by the enemy and those who serve him.

As we “read”earlier God promised that his WORD will do exactly whatever God desires for it to do. And God gives us that confirmation at the end of the last passage, that this is his WORD and he has SPOKEN it.

We have discussed the WORD, the POWER of his Word and that he loves you and WANTS you to be free in him and he WANTS you to allow your heart to DELIGHT itself in the love, companshioship, and grace of the one who knew you BEFORE even your parents knew you.

He wants you to rest in that love!

So I will end it with the verse, this WORD for you!

Psalm 37:4: “DELIGHT thyself also in the Lord; and HE SHALL GIVE THEE THE DESIRES OF THINE HEART.

May God bless you with his love and peace and keep you in his care!

I have used this song before but if you have never heard please listen, the lyrics are so perfect to describe the price Jesus paid for us at the cross and the love that we can never even begin to understand that he has for us, so much that he gave up his life, so we could live in him, and as he rose, he will one day resurrect us unto him, and until that day, DELIGHT yourself in that love, that love that IS him.

DOUBLE-EDGED PART 2 / FANNING THE FLAME…..

“Because of the savour (fragrance) of thy good ointments THY NAME (JESUS) IS AS A OINTMENT (healing balm) POURED FORTH, therefore do the virgins love thee.
DRAW ME ( lead me away ) we WILL RUN AFTER THEE (GOD): The KING hath BROUGHT me INTO HIS chambers: We WILL be glad and REJOICE in thee (GOD), WE WILL REMEMBER THY LOVE MORE THAN WINE: the upright love thee (BEING RIGHT IN OUR LOVE FOR YOU).”
Song of Solomon:1:3-4

Now to unravel that, I always like to point out to NEVER EVER read the commentaries on this book!
It is compared to Solomon and his Shulamite lady, but they are so wrong!
It is not about the kind of relationship they like to carnally compare it to.
It is the relationship between Jesus and His church (The Bride).
I still love this, I am actually called to specifically the book of Revelation but I love Solomon and I am so thankful to Him for allowing me the work in it that he does because as I said before women WERE NOT ALLOWED TO READ THIS BOOK!
That is the problem, that is what we must overcome to really get this, they thought women would become too “flustered” if they were to read the descriptive passage of a soul entwining love that left one so helpless desiring to breathe the very breath of the other,a love so strong, that “it is strong as death, the jealousy (desire to keep and protect the love of that relationship) is a cruel as the grave: the fire thereof ARE coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.”
Jesus came here as a man BUT he was completely innocence, completely sinless and HE NEVER HAD, NOR WILL EVER HAVE the kind of relations that humans do!
But IT IS  the grandest, most romantic
love story that has ever been or ever will be written.
IT IS the spiritual love story between Christ and the church.
Once we have been brought into His house of feasting and tasted spiritually the things of God, we can no longer help but to run after him.
The virgins ( hearts spiritually pure to Him) seek only to be one more moment in His presence, completely overshadowed and overcame by Him and all that He is, which is indescribable, but will of a certainty melt your knees from under you and leave you  blew completely away that to mirror the verse “turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcame (overwhelmed) me.”
Translation if He were to physically manifest to match his spiritual manifestation, you would be unable to make eye contact because of the sheer majesty and awe of what you had just experienced.
But don’t take my word for it, especially since a certain “anonymous” group wants to make me their poster child because they think we are all sick and need help, but I know just how real He is and I know that love, and I know one word from Him and my soul will melt at His will, because I adore Him and His wish is my command, He owns me completely and I want Him too, what really gets you is His overwhelming humility and gentleness.
How could you expect the God of the universe to meet you in your pain and cover you with pure love in such an unexpected way?
How can He come down to mere mortals and dry their tears and silence their cries and assure them that His love heals all and they are in His garden, no matter what the world or others may say.
How can He hold the world in His hand and yet know the very hair on our heads and our today from our tomorrow, and our first breath from our last?
How can he possibly form us in our Mother’s womb, watch us as we struggle to find our way and then when we have returned to Him never question us as to why it took so long, only welcome us with arms open wide and love as strong?
1 Samuel 2:1-10
“And Hannah prayed and said, My heart rejoiced in the Lord, mine horn ( my strength) is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged (smiles at) over mine enemies;
BECAUSE I rejoice in thy (your) salvation,
THERE IS NONE HOLY AS THE LORD: FOR THERE IS NONE BESIDE THEE: NEITHER IS THERE ANY ROCK LIKE OUR GOD.
Talk no more so exceedingly proudly; let NOT arrogancy come out of your mouth; For the Lord IS a God of knowledge and by him actions are weighed.
The bows of the mighty men are broken; and they that stumbled ARE GIRDED WITH STRENGTH.
They that were full have hired themselves out for bread; and they that were hungry ceased ( hunger no more); so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath born seven is waxed (grown) feeble.
The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: HE BRINGETH DOWN TO THE GRAVE, AND BRINGETH UP.
The lord maketh poor, and maketh rich; he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, TO SET them among princes, AND TO MAKE THEM INHERIT THE THRONE OF GLORY: for the pillars of the earth ARE THE LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.
HE WILL keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for BY STRENGTH SHALL NO MAN PREVAIL.
THE ADVERSARIES OF THE LORD SHALL BE BROKEN TO PIECES; OUT OF HEAVEN HE SHALL THUNDER UPON THEM:THE LORD SHALL JUDGE THE EARTH; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn (strength) OF HIS ANOINTED.”

Luke 1: 46-54:
“And Mary said, My soul hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
For he hath regarded the low estate (lowly state) of his handmaiden (maidservant); for, behold, from henceforth (now on) all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; AND HOLY IS HIS NAME.
And HIS MERCY IS ON THEM that fear him FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION.
He hath shewed (shown) strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imaginations of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seats (thrones), and exalted them of a low degree (the lowly).
He hath filled the hungry with good things: and the rich he hath sent away empty.
he hath holpen (helpped) his servant Israel, IN REMEMBRANCE OF HIS MERCY;”
Remembering that love, next time….

“Then said he unto them. Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth  forth out of his treasures things old and new.” Matthew 13:52.

Song of Solomon 7:13 “The mandrakes give a good smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee. O my beloved.”
Treasures and fruits new and old, just how old? A revival of signs, wonders and miracles that have not been see since the days of the apostles, How new? A kind of the fire and oneness with God that has never been seen, remember he promises a new thing, and the earth will be filled with his glory. How will this happen? Psalm 102:17-22 “This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord(19)For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;(20) To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;(21) To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;(22) When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms serve the Lord.”  Such as in Acts chapter 2, when the disciples and others on the day of Pentecost, in one mind one accord, suddenly the likeness of cloven tongues of fire sat upon each of them, being filled with the Holy Ghost , It was a game changer , then the miracles came, healings came, demons fled and thousands were saved. That is why we are encouraged to seek the old paths.
This will be one agenda , an expectation and desire to see our God take his rightful place as King over Earth.
How do we get there? “One thing have I desired of the Lord ,that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple”Psalm27:4
David also proclaimed that he set his face as a flint to know the Lord and have such a desire that nothing else would ever compare. Psalm24:3-9 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?(4)He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul into vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.(5) He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.(6)This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah(7) Lift up your heads, O ye Gates; and be ye lifted up ,ye everlasting doors; and the King of Glory shall come in.(8) Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.(9) Lift up your heads , O ye gates; even lift the up ,ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Where is this place? Isaiah 60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation and thy gates Praise.”
Psalm84:4 “Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will still be praising thee. Selah.” You are that foretold generation and we have been blessed to be chosen to be invited to that place, and given the secret to the opening of those gates.
What happens once those gates have been opened and his glory and his presence is revealed. “For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before the nations.” Isaiah 61:11.
Above all, Jesus tells us if he is lifted up he will draw all people to him, we lift him up by showing our love and the fullness of joy in him, enter into HIS courts with praise, I don’t think that necessarily means just church, it could also be his presence, when we lift him up this is the effect it will have on those who see, Psalm 45:15-17 “With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought(16) Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth. (17) I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall people praise thee for ever and ever.”
