Alexander, Jezebel,& letting liars lie

“When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death; And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself (felt remorse), and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed innocent blood, and they said, What is that to us?  see thou to that  (what’s it to us, that’s your problem)

and he cast down (threw down) the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went out and hanged himself.” Matthew 27:1-5

Most pretty much know that story but what had jumped out at me a few months ago was this, the priests, whom we all know was guilty as sin in having this done trying to cover their sins turned on Judas when his conscience finally started eating away and he thought he could somehow give the money back and no longer be guilty of the blood of Christ.

Doesn’t work that way and the priests answer pretty much said it all, What is that to us? WHY is that our problem?

Isn’t that the popular answer today? Not my problem, Not our problem, that is YOUR problem.

Of course the priests knew the truth, they PAID Judas to sell Jesus out to them and Judas was devil enough to do it, as Jesus had already said he had called twelve and one of them was the devil.

When we know the truth, when we can come to the defense of those who cannot for whatever reason come to their own defense and we let them be betrayed, slandered, and unjustly accused because even knowing the truth, it is so much easier, more convenient, and cowardly to just ignore that truth and whisper to ourselves “not my problem” and let others be wounded, vilianized, and left twisting in the wind.

Whispering to ones own conscience to quieten down may work for a while but it is not going to work forever.

Just as Judas conscience finally led him to attempt repentance, I use attempt because we all know he hung himself so even though he may have been trying to forgive himself he failed in the fact that he forget to ask forgive of the ONLY one who could forgive him, the Father.

Judas was not saved because  instead of asking God to save him he was trying to save himself.

The greatest weapon the devil has ever held in his arsenal is lies as Jesus said this:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts (desires) of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode (stands) not in the truth, because there is NO truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own (from his own nature)FOR HE IS A LIAR, AND THE FATHER OF IT.”  John 8:44

And as scripture tells us lying is an abomination to God and all liars will have their part in hell along with the fearful which means cowards, which go hand in hand, no shock there either.

So what are you to do if you find yourself surrounded by the fiery darts of the devil being shot out of the lying mouths of those who want attention so badly that they are willing to destroy anyone to get that attention and those sympathetic pats of the back?

Well first, consider it an honour, those darts have being flying at the children of God since the devil entered the serpent and all those of the Old Testament had more than their fair share of digging knives out of their backs and the apostles who were accused practically daily.

Certainly most of Jesus, whose “trail” starred the false accusations of others. Even when it hurts and destroys, it turns as a blessing:

Matthew 5:11,12: BLESSED are ye, when men shall revile (criticize, condemn, attack) you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you FALSELY, for my sake.

REJOICE, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

So it is to be expected, does not mean it doesn’t shock us or hurt us when it comes but God gave us so much comfort when He said that.

And it also should not surprise us when those who know the truth could speak the truth but refuse to because it is not their problem.

Where do we go from there?

Well, nothing gets past God and the Bible gives us reassurance that even though they may be laughing now and even though they may think that just because they seem to be “getting away” with it, God is very much aware and the Bible has many teaching on how we are to deal with it.

Here is just a sample, Psalm 37:1-13: “Fret NOT thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity (don’t let them get to you)

For they shall soon be cut down like grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be feed (feed on HIS faithfulness)

DELIGHT thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

COMMIT thy way unto the Lord; TRUST also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

REST in the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret NOT thyself because of him who prospereth in his way because of the man who bringeth wicked devices (schemes) to pass.

CEASE from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself in any wise (way) to do evil (let go of your anger and don’t try to take your own vengeance).

For evildoers shall be cut off (DESTROYED) but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall NOT be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth (lying and bad mouthing).

THE LORD SHALL LAUGH AT HIM (laughs at the wicked) FOR HE SEETH THAT HIS DAY IS COMING.”

And no one can stop those days from coming to the wicked, if they fail to repent, those days come and they come with the mighty hand of God bringing that destruction.

One of the many mercies of God is the invisible hedge that is kept around humans, all humans.

Without that protection NO ONE that is saved today would have lived long enough to be saved because the enemy would have killed us off while we were lost because that is his agenda and people can push it a little too far and kept disregarding the tug of the conviction power  of the Holy Spirit, refusing to surrender to God and accept salvation and they can be turned over to reprobates to wallow in the sin they so love.

They can be lost to the FALSE belief that hell is one big party where they will have all the sin they love here, being deceived into making reservations for hell and others can just kept tormenting God’s children until they are allowed to witness the truth of the existence of the enemy for themselves.

Alexander the coppersmith was such a person, he is mentioned several places and was quite good at stirring up strife for the disciples and attempting to fight the work of God (Acts 19:32-20:1)

I want to give two passages about this, the first Paul warning others to watch out and writing of those who could have and should have but did not speak up on his behalf and giving others hope when they are faced with similar situations:

2 Timothy 4:14-17: “Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works; of whom be thou ware also (also beware of); for he hath greatly withstood our words.

At my first answer (defense) no man stood with me, but all men forsook me; I pray God it not be laid to their charge.

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LION.”

We see God’s grace and deliverance for Paul so what happened to Alexander? The answer is found here:

1 Timothy 1:18-20: “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before (the prophecies concerning the calling on Timothy’s life), that thou by them mighest war a good warfare

Holding faith, and a good conscience, which some having put away (have rejected) concerning faith have made (suffered) shipwreck:

Of whom IS Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”

People who are left to the own devices to fend off the enemy can soon learn just how much they NEED God and his protection.

Those mouths that so proudly boast soon have a way of quieting down and learning to be grateful for the mercy that they themselves never bothered to show others.

Now let’s check out one more story about not quite knowing when to give it up and trusting in the ability to save oneself.

The story of king Ahab, his wife Jezebel, and his desire to take another’s inheritance.

It is really long story, so I’ll highlight most of it but it begins 1 Kings chapter 21, you should read it in its entirety, but I want to start with this verse:

1 Kings 21:25: “But there was none like unto Ahab, which did SELL himself to work WICKEDNESS in the sight of the Lord, whom his wife Jezebel STIRRED UP (incited).”

To get the basics on this story, most know that Jezebel was a pagan, she was evil, mean, and as that verse tells us she was more than happy to stir up trouble and Ahab went right along for the ride, because they were “two peas in a pod”.

The Lord even tells us in book of Revelation that he gave her opportunity to repent, but instead she choose to think she could control the world until God showed her who was really in control.

She was well versed in causing trouble and sparring with the prophet of God but what really nailed her coffin was having a man murdered to appease her whining husband. Ahab had a neighbor who owned a vineyard, and in the desire of thinking he should have everything he wanted he wanted this vineyard to turn into a herb garden close to his house, he offered to trade for it or even buy it but Naboth did not want to sell his inheritance because it had been handed down from his fathers and it was never to sell your inheritance for anyone.

We’ll pick it up here 1 Kings:21:4-5; “And Ahab came into his house heavy (sullen) and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to: for he had said, I will NOT give thee the inheritance of my fathers.

And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?”

So he goes on to tell her his story, and we’ll pick back up here:

1 Kings 21:7,8: “And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? (aren’t you still in charge) arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

So SHE WROTE LETTERS IN AHAB’S NAME AND SEALED THEM WITH HIS SEAL, and sent the letters into the elders and the nobles that were dwelling in his city, dwelling WITH Naboth.”

So with these letters she concocted a plan to have two men lie and accuse Naboth in the of blasphemies.

1 Kings 21:13: ” And there came in two men, children of Belial (pagans) and sat before the him; and the men of Belial witnessed (lied) against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king.

Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.”

So she goes on to tell her husband to go get his vineyard , quite happy now compared to his little tantrum of pouting and not eating because he didn’t get what he wanted but because Naboth was now dead nothing stood in his way.

Jezebel thought she was really smart using her husband’s name and her husbands seal to get the job done but God always sees, even when others may not know the truth, God does and Ahab’s little trip to take possession of “his”vineyard land was getting ready to leave a pretty bad aftertaste in his mouth.

1 Kings 21:17: “And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite (a prophet of God) saying, Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of  Naboth, whiter he is gone down to possess it.

In the verses that follow God sent down the judgments concerning them, and Ahab struck with fear repented and humbled himself to the Lord and the Lord stayed the punishment to the days of his sons, but now Jezebel, she is a different story, as her wickedness spans over time and the fulfillment of the judgment against her for the murder of Naboth takes places here.

2 Kings 10:30-37: “And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tiered her head, and looked out of a window.

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master? (is everything okay with Zimri)

And he lifted up his face to the window and said, Who is on my side? who?

And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs, and he said, Throw her down.

So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her, for she is a king’s daughter.

And they went to bury her; but found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

Wherefore they came again, and told him, and he said, This is the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying In the portion of Jezebel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

And the carcass of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezebel: so they shall NOT say, This is Jezebel.”

You can’t control liars, and you can’t control what others chose to believe and if no one is willing to stand with you, not ever considering the golden rule remember God does stand with you and remember the teachings of the Bible and rest in the knowledge of this, the lessons learned from the story of Alexander and Jezebel prove what God’s children already know, they might hide it from people but it will never be hid from God.

So don’t ever think lies or letting liars lie with those lies is ever excusable and don’t ever think just because you won’t speak up and chose to let them sleep that will prevent them from one day turning those same lying mouths against YOU.

First fruits first

Romans 8:15-25: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together.

For I reckon the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

For the earnest expectation of the creature (creation) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

For the creature (creation) was made subject to vanity (futility), not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope

Because the creature itself shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption (decay) into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we also groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

For we are saved by hope; but hope  that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for it?

But if we HOPE for what we see not, then do we with PATIENCE (perseverance) wait for it.

One of the main threads used to weave scripture into the beautiful tapestry of life is this, the assurance, confidence, and encouragement that this life and this world is not all there is to the story.

Let’s think about what the Bible tells us about “firsts” and think of all the “firsts” the Bible contains, the beginning of all creation and those whose stories fill the pages telling the stories of their lives, stories of many firsts and completely new beginnings and a pilgrimage to a land clearly not of this earth:

Hebrews 11:8-10: “By faith Abraham when he was called of God to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance ,obeyed, and he went out, not knowing whiter he went (not knowing where he was going).

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange (foreign) country, dwelling in tabernacles (tents) with Isaac, and Jacob, the heirs with him in the SAME promise;

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker IS God.”

So knowing these firsts we have fruits of those firsts, the wonderful things produced as God prompted these journeys of faith and with the birth of Jesus Christ, the first and only of the kind, the Son of God, born of a virgin and He chose and would choose those to be His firstfruits in the giving of the indwelling of His Spirit and by His resurrection power. He made us the first adopted in the Kingdom of God and His blood making us kindred with Him.

Think about what John tells us from Revelation 1:5,6: “And Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten (born) of the dead, and the prince  (ruler over) the kings of the earth.

Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be the glory and dominion  for ever and ever. Amen.”

James 1:18: “Of his own will begat he us (he chose us) with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”

Ephesians 1:3-14:“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings, in heavenly places in Christ.

According as he hath chosen us in him BEFORE the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before in love.

Having PREDESTINATED us into the adoption of children by Christ to himself, according to good pleasure of his will.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of HIS GRACE.

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence (understanding).

Having made known to unto us the mystery of his will,  According to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times (when all things are fulfilled and New Jerusalem descends) he might GATHER TOGETHER IN ONE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST, BOTH WHICH ARE IN HEAVEN, AND WHICH ARE ON EARTH, even in him;

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: In WHOM also after that ye believed, ye were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise.

Which IS the earnest (down payment) of  OUR inheritance UNTIL the redemption of the PURCHASED POSSESSION,unto the praise of HIS glory.”

And that a greater life and a new story yet to be written is waiting just on the other side of that door that separates our physical earthly bodies from their true home in the eternal realm. And as he so eloquently put it, the fear we often associate with this crossing was not given to us from God.

God did not give us the bondage that comes from being chained in fear and chained by fear. God gave us hope and that hope is in the knowing that we are already adopted into a greater family, a heavenly family, and a royal priesthood, the hope in the knowledge that God is our Father, that He does hear us and most assuring that our home is not of this earth, but our true home is with him.

Our inheritance, and Jesus sealing us through himself as our “down payment”, our assurance that we do have a right through him, through that adoption into the bloodline of the King, a right to that country, yet to come.

We are given this assurance and reassurance as we do groan and we do suffer pain and heartache on this earth and yearning for that day when all will be made new, the day when peace will be as a river, kindness, love, and mercy will rule everyday life and even the animals and all living creation from the smallest microbe to largest beast will live in absolute harmony, scripture telling us that nothing shall hurt or destroy in his Holy mountain, a child will play atop a snakes den and the lion will eat straw and the serpent will eat dust.

No more pain, no more sorrow, no more dying for ANY of his creation. And that beautiful feeling of peace and hope and comfort given us by Him is only but a small sample of, as they have written, the glory which is to be revealed. We all need encouragement and a little extra zeal sometimes to get through this world and to keep us focused but sometimes I think we need to focus a lot less of this world and focus much more closely on the next.

Just as Jesus told us to not lay up treasure on this earth but to store our treasure in heaven, sometimes we need to take a peek at that treasure and remember the wonderful things waiting there and of course none of us know what we have stored up but we do know we will see loved ones who have gone on, rejoice with old friends and beloved brothers and sisters if old, we know that we will have joy unspeakable and love that never ends, heavenly choirs as we all sing to the Lord and as he did we the disciples, we may even get to hear His beautiful songs. But all the pain and all the sorrows of this creation will be forgotten and we will rejoice evermore.

So indulge me if you will, and think of me as your travel agent for just a bit, and let me give you the description of your homeland and the country you will be travelling to.

“And I saw a NEW heaven and a NEW earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make ALL things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

And he said unto me, It is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of LIFE freely

He that overcometh shall INHERIT all thingsI will be his God, and he shall be my son.

But the fearful (cowardly), and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers (sexually immoral), and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

And there came unto me on of the seven angels which had the seven vials of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither (here), I  will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”

{That was the background on our country, now for the scenic description and wonders to be found there}

“And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me a great city, the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God.

Having the glory of God and her light was like unto a tone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

And had a great wall and high, and twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel; On the eats three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in (on) them the names of the twelves apostles of the Lamb.

And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

And the city lieth foursquare (is laid out as a square), and the length is as large as the breadth; and he measured the city with a reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel (he used human measurements).

And the building (construction) of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished (adorned) with all manner of precious stones.

The first foundation was jasper, the second, sapphire, the third, a chalcedony, the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx, the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eight, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh,a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several (individual) gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

And I saw NO temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb ARE the temple of it. And the city had NO need of the sun, neither the moon, to shine in it: FOR THE GLORY OF THE LORD DID LIGHTEN IT, AND THE LAMB IS THE LIGHT THEREOF.

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour unto it.

And the gates thereof shall NOT be shut at all by day FOR THERE SHALL BE NO NIGHT THERE.

And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

And there in no wise (way) enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh (causes an) abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

And he shewed me a pure river of water of water of LIFE, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God, and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be NO more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be NO night there; and they need NO candle (lamp), NEITHER sun; for the Lord giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.” Revelation 21 & Revelation 22:1-6

Now that is a destination not to be missed!

Isn’t it amazing to know that you are firstfruits hand-picked to be part of that glorious Kingdom?!

Thanks for reading! Until we meet again may God bless you and yours!

Persecution, Perseverance, & Promises

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask it of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not (does not scold, berate, or belittle us); and it shall be given him. James 1:5 Persecution.

Why is it when we are battling and battling, heartache and sickness, and what seems like trials on every side that the enemy always sends someone or works through someone to add just a little extra to that load that we are already carrying on our backs? Well, a couple of reasons, just a Jesus told Peter, the devils main objective is to sift us.

He knows that even in God, we are still humans. We are still very much prey to that Adam nature and his hope is that is he rattles us, shakes us, and sifts us enough, that Adam nature is going to pour out and in the midst of persecution, he will get us to react and then us that reaction in attempt to convince us to just give up the fight and retreat forget the race and forfeit the crown.

Just as Jesus warned us Revelation 3:11: “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”

And He said this concerning those that are of the devil, that accuse and lie and persecute God’s children while pretending to be good themselves, Jesus told us clearly with this verse to hold tightly to what He has already given us and do not let any man, or anything human that can be done to take away from us what God Himself had given.

The Apostles wrote much concerning this and they were more than experts on the subject because persecution was just part of their everyday  life and Paul even directly linked it to his calling as an Apostle.

They were in fact set as a “Gazingstock”.

It is the same routine the devil has always used and for many of us it takes a lifetime to learn not fall into at least one of his traps.

Sometimes we can see it coming and prepare but sometimes we are just blew away by words and false accusations that we would have never expected, especially we allow that “sifting” to shake out the flesh enough to confront others and then have them try to even lie to us about us.

This is another reason for the lesson that Micheal the Archangel did not argue back with satan, actually is says this in Jude verses 9,10: “Yet, Michael the archangel , when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not (dared not) bring against him a railing accusation, but said, the Lord rebuke thee.”

Michael could have said A LOT about the devil and the actions he had committed. Considering that Micheal is the warrior archangel and satan was the praise/protector angel, Michael could have probably put a pretty heavy smack down on him (which did happen with the war in heaven-Revelation 12:7) but during this particular dispute Michael was doing his job and left the reprimand and punishment of the devil up to the only one it belongs to, the Lord.

Noticing that is said that he “dared not” bring against him a heated argument, he dared not, not because of the devil but because he is obedient to God and serves and fears the Lord also, just as the Bible tells us that the angels are “fellow-servants” with the children of God.

So, that takes care of that, now to take care of something for me, any one who follows this blog now that it has been quite awhile on new posts, but they also know about the death of my Mom in September and the we also have had two other family members that were also diagnosed with cancer and for their privacy I’ll leave it there, but to say it has been a year of heartache would be an understatement and I have just truly been stretched time wise and have felt it a season better suited for “taking notes” rather than writing “lessons from the field” but during it all, the enemy reared his ugly head and we were hit with an unbelievable barrage of accusations, and I did, I lost it, and I used the A** word.

First time since I have been saved that anything like that has come out of my mouth, but I did and I tell you that because if you feel that is unforgivable and think I have no business writing for Christ, you have the choice to make that decision for yourself and believe me, I did ask myself that also, and I am not going to get into the details because why repeat what satan wants repeated?

But the truly comical part came, when people who are not Christians and who outright lie and do everything they can do to berate and falsely accuse others (including those with cancer) can smugly tell the whole world via social media, that if “some” people go through the pearly gates, they would have no problem themselves.

They sure didn’t bother listing the endless spew of profanity that as the saying goes “would make a sailor blush” spat at me.

I am not proud of it, I am not happy that I fell into that trap and after several weeks I have also decided that to give up my ministry for one moment of anger would completely void every single thing I have ever preached to others.

I believe in getting on the boat, staying on the boat, if you fall off the boat, ask Jesus for forgiveness and get back on the boat!

Jesus saved me, Jesus called me, and Jesus is responsible for my ordination and only Jesus has the power to revoke my calling and to revoke it myself because I in anger said a word that is not nice at all, would be doing the devils job for him.

I also remember the story of Paul and Alexander the coppersmith, and people being “delivered unto satan for the destruction of the flesh” so that their souls might be saved and you know, at the end of the day, it is God that they will have to answer to and they will not have one word to speak back in their defense.

And as hard as it is, that is why the Lord has given us so many teachings on this, because others will choose to believe what they want but God is the ultimate judge of all things.

And when a person will one day be faced with the realization of the hate and wishes of death for others and faced with the cruelty of the own words, that will produce far greater truth in their souls than anything thing any of us could ever say.

You know, kinda like Scrooge in a Christmas Carol, when he was finally moved with compassion and questioned whether or not Tiny Tim would die and the Ghost of Christmas present echoed his own words of ending the “surplus population” and thoughts of that is why when we get past the hurt and past the anger, we can truly feel sympathy for them because we know the price they will have to pay for that hatred.

And I wanted to get that out-of-the-way, especially for those I know personally, I felt that an explanation was owed.

I have read some wonderful posts on the subject by other bloggers recently, God timing is always perfect and maybe many are going through a season of persecution, because there is  a lot being said about it right now.

And we do garner so much strength from others and hope that maybe there is hope for us after-all. So we HAVE to PERSEVERE, which means that we must continue, continue on a set course for a planned destination even with little hope of reaching that destination and even in the face of heartache, snares, and the very deliberate stumbling blocks that have been placed on the path.

Taking heart and much heart in the fact that Philippians 1:6 teaches us this: “Being confident of THIS very thing, that HE which began a good work in you WILL perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

2 Corinthians 9:13:”There hath no temptation taken you BUT such as is COMMON to man: But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make a way of escape, that ye may be able to escape.”

Taking that escape route is up to us, God leaves it open but we must be willing to say no to the drama, cut off communications, and recognize the reality that this life is short and every single moment is precious and time spent in anger and battling someone who would fall under the category of Jude 13: “Raging waves of the sea, foaming out of their own shame;…” those who themselves become like those waves and cause peace to turn to distress and propels those unnecessary storms in our life and they do it because they themselves are filled with such hate that they despise any remote glimmer of light that tries to shine on the life of another.

This is when we take the lesson from the angels.  2 Peter 2:11: “Whereas angels which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusations against them before the Lord.

Again, railing accusations, angry, hostile retaliation that certainly can and most likely will, in a symbolic thought, cause a barrier between us and the Lord.

We can not hold anger, hurt, or even resentment in our heart because it turns to iniquity and we have a very powerful warning concerning that, Psalm 66:18: If regard iniquity IN my heart, the Lord will NOT hear me.”

So we must truly leave people in the hands of the Lord.

PROMISES, 1 John 1:4-9: “And these things I write unto you that your joy may be made full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.

If we say we that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Jude verse 24,25: “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.”

Only He has the power to make us stand, and only He has the power to wash, save, and deliver us, from the power of men, the power of the venomous tongues of others and most importantly from ourselves.
