To continue with being on guard in these last days when it can nearly impossible to distinguish the true gold from the fools gold we have to keep constant check our foundations to keep them strong and to quickly seal any potential cracks and repair damage that may have already occurred.
We also have to make certain that our foundation is our own, and certain that it is the Lord’s building plan because others may have thoughts on how we should build and we may actually want to model our building similar to theirs but as stated by Psalm 127:1:
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: Except the Lord
keep (guards) the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
ROMANS 15:20:
“Yea, so have I strived (aimed) to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I build on another man’s foundation:”
He carefully pointed out there that he was going where Christ had not been preached.
God is all about new and he likes doing new things that is why we have to be careful not to dismiss gentle tugs on our hearts to step out into a work that may seem strange or even impossible to others.
God will raise up one for a job and another completely opposite in everyway for another job, that is why we are workers together.
He uses those personality and background differences as part of each very different design.
And we will not stand unless he builds us and we can never stand on another’s foundation.
1 CORINTHIANS 3:6-15 :
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God giveth the increase.
Now he that plantenth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
For WE ARE labourers TOGETHER WITH GOD: Ye ARE God’s husbandry (field) YE ARE GOD’S BUILDING.
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon, But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereon.
For other foundation CAN NO MAN LAY than that which is laid, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be REVEALED BY FIRE; AND THE FIRE SHALL TRY (TEST) EVERY MAN’S WORK OF WHAT SORT IT IS.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so by (through) fire.
2 CORINTHIANS 10:12-18
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: But they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.
But we will not boast of things without (beyond) our measure, but according to the measure of the rule (province) which God hath distributed (apportioned) to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you; for we come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ.
Not boasting of things without our measure, that IS, of other men’s labours; but having hope, when you faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly.
To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready for our hand.
But he that glorieth, LET HIM GLORY IN THE LORD.
FOR NOT HE THAT COMMENDETH HIMSELF IS APPROVED, BUT WHO THE LORD COMMENDETH.”
So now the foundation of God’s goodness:
PSALM 89:14: Justice (righteousness) and judgment are the habitation (foundation) of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.”
Finally, to repair, strengthen, and seal our foundation:
2 TIMOTHY 2: 15,16,19,21-26
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
But shun profane and vain babblings (worthless talk) for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
If a man therefore purge (cleanse) himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet (useful) for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work.
Flee also youthful lusts: but FOLLOW righteousness, faith, charity (love), peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But foolish and unlearned questions ( people arguing what they do not understand) avoid knowing that they gender (generate) strife.
And the servant of the Lord, must not strive (quarrel); but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing (correcting) those that oppose ( are in opposition to) themselves; IF PREADVENTURE (PERHAPS) GOD WILL GIVE THEM REPENTENCE TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.
And that they may recover themselves (come to their senses) out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will (to do his will).
